When it comes to enterprise ERP vendors, SAP is without many peers. Oracle, certainly, has built a beachhead in the business applications market during the past 15 or so years.
But in looking at Forrester Research’s rankings of the top ERP vendors—by revenue—it’s obvious that there’s a two-horse race going on, as the State of ERP in 2011 report notes: SAP out in front (with more than $16 billion in annual revenues) and Oracle following behind (with approximately $8 billion in ERP revenues).
After that? Well, just have a loosky at Forrester’s list, and it’s clear to see how the rest of the pack is (to continue the horse-race analogy) chasing SAP’s and Oracle’s behinds.
